I had meant to get around to this earlier, but I got lazy. At any rate, I'm coming out with it now.

I've done what I used to dread doing the most: outgrowing this place. I went for a few months without visiting this place, and to be real, it felt like nothing had really changed. The only people I could really connect with have disconnected from here long before I did, and the one thing that would keep me coming back, the unofficial medal list I maintained with the help of others, has been passed along to those more dedicated than I could hope to be.

13 years ago, I was led here by some redirective links from Knox, the claymation guy. I made an account in 2005 just for the sake of leaving some reviews, and didn't really get into the forums until 2006, when I was still learning about how things worked. Over time, I would pitch in with several archival purposes, with a library project of archiving certain threads until I got bored of that, the official NG image archive thread until that got out of hand thanks to a handful of users who wanted their posts deleted, and ultimately the unofficial medal list until I could no longer keep up the facade that I was as dedicated to medals as I used to be. This would earn me the spot of one of the Wi/Ht? regulars, #43 to be exact. Not sure what's become of that though.

So my NG account is 12 years old today. To think it all began just because I wanted to leave a few reviews for a few movies & games. To think I was dumb enough to believe reviews were what I needed to get site EXP rather than votes. To think I'd take on a large project for 8 years (the medal list management) and get a large following from it.

And to think part of me still clings to this website.

For me, at least.

There are plenty of people in my area who weren't as fortunate, and are still trying to rebuild in more ways than one.

Even with my lack of activity, I should probably speak up.

Currently living in Texas, where Hurricane Harvey is bound to pass through. Power's likely to go out, may have to work harder to live, so I'll naturally speak up if I live through it.

My 26th birthday was 7 months ago, and now I figured that probably shouldn't be the first thing I'd want people to see at this point. So have something I made after seeing some Facebook post from a while back.

For anyone aware of the NG Archive's existence, something went bad. The owner, a good friend of mine, didn't feel motivated enough to completely restore it. However, I did talk him into restoring a small portion that allowed me to access some of the stuff we still have on there. More importantly, the images. So I'm just going to leave them here in case something happens over there again.

We'll start with some of the older layouts.

And to think the reason I signed up was to write a few poorly outlined reviews on what are now some dated flash games. And it wouldn't be until a few months later that I would make some poorly outlined posts on the BBS.
